When My Life Changed Forever
It all started on August 17th 2012, the day before my baby shower. My, also pregnant, sister-in-law, Tonya, and I were doing the final shopping for my baby shower. I was very excited to be, finally, having the shower. It had already been canceled and rescheduled once, and with my induction date only 6 days away, everyone joked that we would be having it at the hospital. When we left home, we only had two stops to make. The first stop was Babys-R-Us to get her gift for me, which was a home coming outfit for the baby. The second was Wal-Mart to buy the groceries we needed for the baby shower. However, fate had something else in mind.
Our trip, which should have only lasted for a few hours, took all day. Babys-R-Us had already sold out of their newborn summer clothes. How was I supposed to bring my newborn home in winter clothes, in August, with the temperature in the upper nineties? So we went to Ross, but didn’t do much better there. We found some summer clothes, but again everything was mostly sold out. Tonya suggested we try Once Upon A Child, a consignment store in the area. They had so much stuff. After spending at least two and a half hours going through their isles, we were ready to check out. Not only had I found a coming home outfit for my baby, but we both found several outfits for both our babies. At about 7 pm, we finally headed towards Wal-Mart. On our trip of about an hour to the Wal-Mart closest to out houses, my brother called and asked for us to bring home Japanese food for dinner. Adding yet another stop on our trip, but I didn’t mind because I was starving.
Just before we were done shopping at Wal-Mart, I bent down to get a jar of marshmallow puff off the bottom self, and when I stood up I thought I peed a little. Although, that had never happened to me, I knew it happens to a lot of pregnant women. So I excused myself to go clean up. After...
