1.1 Healthcare requirements for a healthcare assistant in the children’s ward of a hospital.
The healthcare requirements for a healthcare assistant is that they will have to be washing and dressing the children as some of them may not be able to dress and wash themselves. Monitoring the children is another one whereby the assistant has to supervise the child and attend to their every need as well as taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
Some may have to lift the patients to get up if they need to use the bathroom or if they are just weak because of the illness they itself.
All staff should use infection control as they will be dealing with ill patients and need to prevent infections from spreading below is how to following do so ...
* using protective clothing, eg aprons and gloves to protect uniforms
* safe use and disposal of sharps (ie needles)
* making sure equipment is clean
* educating patients/service users and carers
* Educating the public on the prevention and control of infections.
The healthcare requirements for a social worker:
A social workers deal with some of the most vulnerable people in our society one of the healthcare requirements is that they must have a good concentration span as they will be dealing with different cases and forgetting is not an option.
Another healthcare requirement is hygiene they must maintain good hygiene because they will be working and socialising with people.
Their sleeping pattern must be right as this job cannot be done if one is tired or suffers from insomnia
Furthermore if a person wants to work as a social worker they need to be caring and loving in order to help others in their everyday life problems especially since they will be working with vulnerable children some of which have been deprived of love.
