INTRODUCTION


The community my topic is based on is Dennery. This small community is located northeast of St Lucia. Sports is an activity involving physical exertion and skills in which an individual or team competes against another or others .Dennery is a community filled with multi-talented young people, and there is nothing in place for them to showcase it, as a result they sit on the block doing absolutely nothing.



















                                                STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM        

“What are the views of the young people in Dennery on the sporting facilities in the community?”

• To identify the sporting facilities available.
• To determine the importance of such facilities.
• To identify the effects or consequences of the absence of sporting facilities.
• To identify some ways to improve the sporting facilities in Dennery








                   


                          REASON FOR SELECTING THE AREA OF RESEARCH

The reason the researcher chose this topic was because too many young people have the sporting abilities and no provision is made to enhance such abilities. As a consequence crime, idleness, unemployment and school dropouts are on an increase .Also it was chosen to investigate how the residents of Dennery feel about such situation.



















                                               

    METHOD OF INVESTIGATION

The method of investigation the researcher selected was a questionnaire .According to the Oxford Dictionary a questionnaire is a set printed or written questions with a choice of answers, devised for the purpose of a survey or statistical study. The purpose of the questionnaire is to gather information about the people’s attitudes, thoughts and behaviors.
