The Battle of Diverse Parenting Styles
For centuries, a mother and a father have been quarrelling out their parenting differences all around the world and will continue to dual for many years to come. On the contrary, a mother and a father have their individual roles that define their parenting techniques. In fact, they grew up in different households with different styles of parenting. Therefore, one parent will tend to value consistency, equality, and social development, while the other parent will tend to value independence, spontaneity, and consequences. This helps provide a child with a diverse surrounding of personal interactions and self-control. Although different, each individual parent has techniques such as play, communication, plus discipline that are equally right and both accomplish the main goal of being a parent; together they have different parenting styles that will create a healthy environment to help a child grow into a happy, successful individual.
To begin with, when it comes to child play, a mother and a father tend to have different views on what is appropriate. For instance, a mother tends to help a child with improving the intellectual and social development. Provided that, a mother would likely use a prop to keep a child refrained from crying or to expand the mind. For example, a small, soft, pink teddy bear might be used for when a child starts to fuss when getting ready to lay down for a nap; a mother would hold a teddy bear up next to her face then speak “baby talk” while wiggling the teddy bear back and forth to cheer up the child. In addition to bring out a child imagination during bath time, a mother will dip a toy such as, a squishy, plastic, yellow pig in and out of the warm, bubbly water while verbalizing “Oink-Oink” sounds similar to a pig.
