The goal of this course is to help you write with greater self-confidence, ease and cogency. If all goes well, you will accomplish this by reading works written by many powerful writers. My hope is that the essays and other forms of writing you read will change the way you write and think about the process of writing. My goal is to assist you in building up your writing skills since you will need these skills throughout your collegiate experience. Good writing skills will always enhance your life in ways that are simultaneously wonderful and practical.
1. All students will write a number of essays as outlined in the syllabus. The length of the typed, double spaced papers will be three to five pages in length. In addition, you will write a research paper of eight to ten pages in length. This paper will follow the MLA documentation style as noted in your St. Martin's...
