Over the last years, new technologies have changed the way we communicate and the way we live. It is often claimed that technology makes our lives easier, however there are some negative aspects.
One common argument against technology is that it becomes quickly obsolete as new models are available every month. Moreover, gadgets like mobile phones and tablets are not only technology but also fashion items. A good example of this is that you can buy covers that allow you to customize and personalize them.
Nevertheless, it is easy to see the positive effect of technology in our daily life. As simple as it is, the mobile phone could be the most useful invention for mankind, as it allows us to communicate wherever we are. One of the main advantages could be seen in houses. All kinds of labour-saving devices, such as vacuum cleaners or dishwashers make us safe time.
As far a job is concerned, it would be difficult nowadays to find a job without being computer literate.
In terms of communication, it is often said that the Internet has been the most revolutionary invention ever. Nowadays it is how we communicate. For instance, lots of people use social networking sites to keep in touch with family and friends and to socialize. Another common use of the Internet is to keep up-to-date the news.
Surprisingly, a small group of people still remain as technophobes and does not have a mobile phone or even know how to text. That is not my case because I am a technophile who needs to buy the latest gadgets, though it is not necessary to buy the state-of-the-art technology. I would not be easy for a freak like me to choose a gadget I could do without.
So, as far as I am concerned, the pluses outweigh the minuses. But it is not easy to predict how technology will develop in the long term.
