There are several policies made in the UK to create the education market which includes The Education Reform Act including the national curriculum, marketisation, league tables and the New right. These policies impact UK’s education.  
The Education Reform act is an educational legislation in England Wales and Ireland that was invented Education Act 1944. This act introduced national curriculum and SATS in the education system .national curriculum consists of compulsory subjects that students must study in school. SATs are test given to children in year 6 and year 9 to see their progress.
These policies were introduced to education market in UK in order to improve equalities so minority groups could integrate into dominant culture. In 2002 labour revealed their plans introduce new schools, new technology and change to ethos of school which could result in better achievement from students.
EMA’s was introduced by labour in after 1997 to improve equality between working class group and ethnic minority group. EMA are paid weekly to students that come from low income background. This move was invented in order to give equal opportunities to materially and culturally deprived family back grounds so that their achievement levels improve within the academic. Other policy such as Compensatory education policies (CEP’s) was introduced by Tony Blair in 1997 and was aimed to extend the academic period among school children from the age of 16 to the age of 18. This policy was aimed to reduce the socio-economic disadvantages which could include restricting equal educational opportunities from students from culturally deprived background originally focusing on working class children in UK.
