As a news director, it is necessary to make decisions on what issues should be breaking stories. Today, news directors are faced with questions on which stories should be made the lead story involving the community in which they live or lives of the nation’s celebrities. Local communities depend on their journalists to keep them informed about the issues that involve them directly. The news broadcasts and daily papers are the best way to keep them involved. In the last few years, social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, have added some new ways to deliver news to the citizens. News outlets contribute by keeping up to minute postings to their pages for their followers to read. There are also numerous websites that keep the nation informed on the latest gossip involved with celebrities.
