The senses in our body gives me the understanding that they are accurate.   I believe this as true because we depend on them in everything we do.   Our everyday thinking is connected to the reality of our world.   The statement, “There is nothing in the mind unless it is first in the sense”, let us know that there is a connection between our senses and thinking that wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t accurate (Kirby & Goodpaster, Sensing, 2014).   These help us in making decision in our everyday lives and situation.   For example, when we see that it is snowing we know it going to be cold and wet.   It’s at this time we would have to make a decision to either adventure out or stay at home.   Also when we feel the heat from a hot drink, our senses alert us that we may get scorch if we don’t cool if off.   Thirdly when we hear our stomach growl this gives us indication that we are hungry and needs to get something to eat (Kirby & Goodpaster, Sensing, 2014).

Without memory there could be no thinking based upon experience and there would be no continuity to our world.   Thinking and memory are inseparable.   A poor memory or distorted memory makes it difficult for us to think successfully (Kirby & Goodpaster, Brain and Memory, 2014).   Even a good...
