For practitioners it is important for them to identify a child’s care and learning needs in a child care setting it is very important for them to know this because it is important to promote development, because some children develop and learn slower than others and for practitioners it is important that they ensure all children’s needs are cared for despite their stage, age and development.   For practitioners meeting a child’s care needs can be challenging because every child is different and unique, there are areas that practitioners need to take into consideration that meeting a child’s need could affect them as they will need to plan accordingly to the children’s age, stage of development and needs. Every Child Matters is one of the pieces of legalisation which supports practitioners in meeting the care needs of all children. It has five principles which are: being healthy; economic wellbeing; making a positive contribution; enjoying and achieving and staying safe. The Every Child Matters outcomes for children and young people to be healthy are able to stay safe also to enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution; and achieve economic well-being. The five outcomes are universal ambitions for every child and young person, whatever their backgrounds or circumstances. Improving outcomes for all children and young people underpins all of the development and work within children’s trusts. Another piece of legislation which practitioners need to adhere to is The Children’s Act 2004. This ensures that all children are kept safe and their individual rights are met. Each child is different, individual and has different learning abilities every child needs to be motivated, interested, involved and participate, this means that the practitioner has to provide an inclusive and interest-generating environment, the act makes provision about services provided to and for children and young people by local authorities and other bodies and requires that they work...
