David H. McDonnell the founder of Avon created a company for women. McDonnell gave women a sense of purpose, identity and independence in the working world. Avon is an interesting company because of its meaning in the business world and community. The company gives women a chance to be self-employed while they gain a sense of financial independence. It offers high quality products and takes an active stand for cancer awareness. Avon Products Inc. is known for making women believe they are beautiful inside and out. This company has a commitment to selling satisfying products, services and self-fulfillment for women internationally. It has a social obligation to the community and its investors. Its mission is focused on six core objectives to achieve. To make sure Avon strategic plan aligns with the vision, mission and people strategies, a study is conducted to make sure these strategies are included in the plan.
The balanced scorecard is a set of measures connecting to the company’s strategy. It has a direct connection to long-term strategy with definite goals and actions (Pearce & Robinson, 2013). The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) gives top managers the knowledge needed to excel in a competitive business world (Kaplan & Norton, 1996). Avon is competing in a complex environment; therefore a detailed understanding of the tasks and procedures for conquering those tasks is very important and the (BSC) will explain Avon’s mission and strategy for a strategic measurement and management system.
The scorecard process starts with the senior executive management team working hand in hand to explain the business units’ strategy with detail objectives.
