America is supplying weapons to governmental opposition groups to try and help rid current government. For the same reason that they aided the south Vietnamese’s as there was a fear that communism would spread as they now fear the spread of Islam.
Pyle knew that he could not change the country alone, so he joined General Thè's army which was also known as the third force. Pyle believed that what he was doing was for the greater good for the country and he was determined to succeed despite the unimportant casualties lost. Pyle was focused on one side and his innocence blinded him.
The Vietnamese people suffered all the causalities due the American involvement. Vietnamese people died involuntary for this because of America’s fear of the spread.
America’s involvement in the Vietnam was by a state of fear with the rise of communism but by entering with Vietnams inner personal conflicts. We are shown that America was more intent on eliminating communism rather than help Vietnam unify. As Pyle represent the younger generation of idealistic innocent American’s
America’s fear with the rise of communism sparked irrationality and fear in their eyes causing them to join the Vietnam War thinking it would help stop the spread of communism. But in response to this nothing but shed innocent blood was shed amongst the American and the Vietnamese
As a consequence American and Vietnamese blood was shed with no apparent victory. Pyle innocence leads him to the involvement in the Saigon bombings. The involvement was nothing more than a tainted cause leaving the generation with many casualties.
