When I saw the essay topic, there were some ideals lightening out from my mind, which are as follows:
  1. This essay will focus on the theoretical aspects of the causes and effects on global warming, which means that more mechanism and data analysis will be included.
  2. This essay will define the global warming in the field of existed phenomena, based on some data and evidence which can be seen.
  3. There are so many causes and effects, so this essay will emphasize on the causes of which can be controlled, and the effects which are more significant for mankind.
The scope of the essay:
I choose the third ideal, and maybe I will add some factors of the second one to make this essay more tenable and specific.
So, according to the course book, my thesis statement is ‘Global warming is a crisis, caused by human activity, which will have long-term consequences for the planet.’

Global warming is a crisis, caused by human activity, which will have long-term consequences for the planet.
Cause1:
Population and the unawareness of the situation (Paramount 2006)
  a. The dramatic increasing of the world’s population is arousing a heavy demand of resource, which can cause a plenty of green house gases.
  b. The public and the government do not have the awareness or they just ignore the situation because the confliction with their interests.
Cause2:
Industrial revolution and the abuse of the fossil fuel (Paramount 2006)
  a. New technology and the industrialization are always both a blessing and a curse. Great power means grave responsibility.
  b. The burning of fossil fuel emit excessive CO2 , which is the main element of green house gases.
