To achieve success in life and to accomplish your goals you need to have some skills that can help you grow personally as well as professionally. This assignment describes my educational and professional background as well as my personal and professional goals.
Education and Professional Background
My name is Tawanda Wicks and I want to start by sharing a little of my personal life. I live in South Jersey and work in Philadelphia at the University of Penn Hospital. I am a single parent of two children. I earned my associates of nursing degree in 2002 and my BSN in 2009. As a teenager I worked in a nursing home and that experience gave me the desire to become a nurse. I worked a full -time job as a nursing assistant and went to school part- time to earn my associates degree of nursing. My journey to becoming a nurse was long and challenging.
Working as a nurse is fulfilling. As a new to practice nurse, I quickly learned prioritizing and time management. As my confidence in knowledge grew, so did my desire to learn more. I decided to continue my education and earn my BSN. The path to earning my BSN was a lot easier than when I earned my ASN. The program was designed for working adults. This experience helped me grow personally and professionally.
Currently, I work as critical care float nurse. I go to all ICU’s and Medical/Surgical units. I am on three committees Unit Council, Safety...
