The BBC, in their report on Princess Dianna’s death, described the current news on the incident. The BBC’s purpose was to inform the people of Princess Dianna’s Death. The Queen’s purpose was to memorialize Dianna but also use this travesty to unite the British nation. She adopted a supportive tone in order to comfort her kingdom but create a sense of unity as well. The Earl Spencer, in his Eulogy to Dianna, emphasized what a great person Dianna was but also ridiculed the media for their vicious ways toward her. The Earl’s purpose was to honor Dianna and shame the media for their unforgivable actions. He adopted sentimental and angry tones in order to have the audience sympathize for Dianna while still placing blame on the paparazzi. The Wikipedia entry of Princess Dianna’s death confirmed newfound details on her death. The article’s purpose was to clarify some of the unknown details about the event. It adopted an educational tone in order to have the reader understand the major details of Dianna’s death and what happened afterwards.
The purpose of the news report from the BBC was to inform the people of Princess Dianna’s death.   BBC explained that Princess Dianna, Dodi Al Fayed, and their driver were killed in an accident under the Place de I ‘Alma while being chased by several photographers. “Mr. Al Fayed and the chauffer died at the scene but the princess…was rushed to the hospital” where she died “in the early hours of Sunday morning... at 0300 BST.” BBC also mentioned that “the French authorities… begun a criminal investigation and are questioning seven photographers.” This Logos confirmed Princess Diana’s death and that actions were going to be taken against the photographers involved.
