Many organizations function similar in more ways than one. These organizations are formed to better their community by providing services who are in demand of some sort. Without organizations that provide services at no charge to their communities, many individuals would take their lives with no other alternative. The organizations described below will tell you in detail why they are socially initiative to their communities.
One organization that has a social initiative in their community is United Way. One way this organization stays connected to the community is by electrifying all possible means of society including individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. It is a worldwide leadership and support organization for the network of nearly 1,800 community-based in 45 countries, and it’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good (United Way, 2014). This organization raises billions of dollars to improve education, income, and health to people worldwide.
United Way helps working low paying families who are struggling financially to meet their basic needs in life. On another hand, they promote to improve education in more than 1.2 million children dropping out of school each year (United Way, 2014). Many struggling families who live without health insurance are often helped by this organization. Whether it is from a victim of abuse or someone struggling with a mental illness or addiction, United Way is always working to ensure everyone has access to affordable and quality care (United Way, 2014). United Way is always willing to provide support, and offer to improve conditions in which many struggling individuals live in today’s society.
