Nutrition and Fitness
Nutrition and fitness are two tools in which individuals must concentrate to stay healthy and fit. Although many individuals receive their nutrients from dietary supplements, the best way to receive nutrients is from food. Physical fitness plays a major role in staying healthy. Donatelle (2010) stated, “Physical fitness is the ability to perform moderate to vigorous levels of physical activity on a regular basis without excessive fatigue (p. 321). In an effort to become physically fit, individuals must increase the amount of time they exercise, the level of intensity, and the length of time spent doing physical activity.
The information that I will explain in this paper relates to my fitness and nutritional habits and the obesity health risks. Other important information shared in this essay includes fitness and nutritional habits and their benefits. After reading this essay, individuals will understand the importance of nutrition and fitness.
My Fitness and Nutritional Habits
Before beginning this class, my fitness and nutritional habits were horrible. I mainly ate fast foods and never found time for fitness. However, since beginning the class, I am finding time for fitness and I watch what I eat. The changes had made a significant difference. I feel better and am losing weight as well. My prior fitness and nutritional habits led me to obesity. The growing problem of obesity is associated with multiple morbidities, including increased risk of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, sleep apnea, and cancer (Ahima, 2011, p. 1). The health risks associated with obesity opened my eyes.
New Fitness Habits and Benefits
