My Reflections of the Secret Life of Walter Mitty
ENG 125 Introduction to Literature

In this essay, I will analyze one of the literary works from this week’s readings. The literature I had chosen is entitled The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Also, I will include why this literary work had captured my interest, using the terms and concepts from the text to support both explanations and interpretations. Using the analytical approach, I will describe and evaluate the meaning of the selected work. At the end of this essay, you may understand why The Secret Life of Walter Mitty captured my interest and why I have chosen to write this essay on this particular literature.
Usually, I have a hard time reading. Not because I have trouble reading the words, I have trouble reading because I tend to lose focus when something does not grab my attention. I am the type of person who likes to use my imagination while I am reading. It helps me visualize what I am reading and helps me connect to whatever I am reading. I t also allows me to involve my feelings, curiosity and a way to escape from life’s distractions. When I am required to read, the first thing I would do is find a quiet place where there is no distractions. Reading is fundamental and it involves focusing on basic literary elements, artistic skills, aesthetic features, ideas, observations, contexts, and dilemmas that will be discovered as I read more.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a story, written by James Thurber. It is a story about a man who seems to be caught up in daydreams and thoughts that have little to do with day to day matters. Walter Mitty is a type of person who is a habitual dreamer. This story is mixed with action as well as some humor due to Mitty’s actions.
