I’m halfway done with my first year of college. It’s amazing to realize how time flies when you’re learning, growing, having fun and meeting new people and experiencing new things. On April 16, 2012, I came to a place I’ve only ever heard in movies. It was always discussed during high school days, but I never really had an idea about how it actually feels to be there. But on April 16th, my thoughts turned into a reality. I stepped into a college with random people, scattered strange faces and a whole new world. It was the beginning of a whole new story.
At first I was worried about my ability to handle separation from my friends as we have always been together and I have been best friends with some of them since early childhood. Although we have drifted apart, I will always look back and be happy for all the unforgettable moments I have shared with them.
And it’s really amazing how quickly friendships generate. My new classmates are amazing and it is wondrous to know that everyone of them is uniquely different like mutants of x-men, having special and unique qualities. But we all seem to have different goals and gone through different stories. It’s joyful to see them being who they are and being completely amazing. I appreciate every single one of them.
I am amazed and shocked at how fast this year has gone by but I have really grown to love my college as it presents everything that I have been searching for: a decent environment, a bunch of amazing people and hilarious teachers. Although I’ve had many ups and downs this year, now I have a better understanding of myself and of college and I’m really excited for next year.
