About Donald Batal and history of the company:

He is the main shareholder of ministry of food, and the CEO of this company. MOF owns and manages classic burger joint and tomatomatic, they have 150 proud team members that work with MOF, and 8 business units, 8 locations. Today they are expending outside Lebanon. They have a lot of competitors and they are happy about it, “competition is healthy and allows you to stay on the market and helps you stay on the top of your business” says Donald Batal.
Besides his parents having a restaurant in old Beirut, he started working at the age of 14, his first job and experience was in a restaurant called super shtriumph where nowadays is known as shtriumph in Achrafiyeh. 25 years ago, shtriumph used to be a kiosk run by scouts people; they used to get scouts students and pay them per hour to work. “It wasn’t accepted for students to work 25 years ago while they were still studying, it wasn’t acknowledged by the society and the parents. But I still took the challenge without my parents knowing. One day they found out and pulled me by the ear and grounded me. It was a disaster to my family because they found out that I was working. I managed to work in parallel again without telling them” Donald said. He established his first business at the age of 22 where he was still a university student, a place called Babbouch Arguile Tabbouch, it was a summer business that he and his girlfriend started and after that Donald Batal joined Roadster Diner. “Roadster diner was not as what we know it today” stated Donald. Donald was part of the team that did the menu and named it at Roadster diner, they didn’t have service, and it was a self-service restaurant.
