In drama the theme of the six hour work shop is ‘King Lear’ by William Shakespeare.   The play is a tragedy where the story opens in ancient Britain, where the elderly King Lear is deciding to give up his power and divide his realm amongst his three daughters, Cordelia, Regan, and Goneril. Lear's plan is to give the largest piece of his kingdom to the daughter, who professes to love him the most, certain that his favourite daughter, Cordelia, will win the challenge. Goneril and Regan lie to their father with sappy and excessive amount of affection. Cordelia, however, refuses to engage in Lear's game, and replies simply that she loves him as a daughter should. The two selfish daughters now have stopped pretending to love King Lear and treat him with cruelty, then by the end of the play ends in death by various methods including poison and suicide. Then after the warm up, our teacher would play disk that has sound effects of a storm and use lighting too, the whole class would act towards it being either be defeated and tell the storm that they...
