Unit 8 Assignment
After reading and reviewing Stratford Sherman Eight Steps toward Integrity, the steps have different business components and business ethics that businesses can use for basic guidelines. The eight steps toward integrity include the following: doing what we say we will do, checking the mirror, defining the rules and values, holistic thinking. First step is doing what we say we will do, "includes keeping promises and meeting deadlines, and often tough negotiations prior to making commitments." While doing the right thing includes being aware of what is right and performing the action that are right. It also includes accepting consequences when necessary. Taking responsibility means that you are taking responsibility for your actions. Supporting your own weight "means that you are functioning a whole." (Stratford Sherman). Holistic thinking means "an appreciation of wholeness in the world as it supports its practice."(Stratford Sherman). Checking the mirror means taking the time to do an honest review of you or as Sherman said pause for reflection. Defining the rules and values are about basics that can be applied to just about everything from couples to organizations.
Newer local health codes have a requirement that trash dumpsters are to be at a minimum of thirty feet from the rear entrance of the building. New laws also include that all its buildings be at least minimum of six feet from the property line, and Sandwich Blitz is currently violating these laws. The enclosure that currently houses the trash dumpster is five feet from the property line.
.Since, Dalman was informed by one of his location managers that a particular location, is in violation of new local health codes. All of the Sandwich Blitz locations are situated on very small parcels of land. It was contributed by Dalman and Lei for the business because they offered a competitive advantage.
