Human trafficking is an ongoing problem throughout the world and is starting to create larger problems. Domestic human trafficking is just one type occurring within Canada, this usually involves with women and young girls who are being sexually exploited. International Human trafficking is also another type occurring throughout Canada, and typically involves a person being transported from a different country to Canada. Thirdly, there are many ways we as a group and as an individual can help prevent Human Trafficking from becoming a wider spread problem then it already is. Today within our society Human Trafficking is becoming bigger than ever, men, women, and children are being stolen and traded everyday to and from Canada for different needs, and this is becoming a demographic problem.

Human Trafficking within Canada has been an increasing problem to this day, with people being traded and trafficked, but it is a complex issue that has a diverse range of circumstances. Men, women, and children are all guilty of this crime, but the majority of victims in Canada to date are women. But those victims to be likely at risk include persons who are socially and economically disadvantaged, such as Aboriginal women, teenage runaways, and children who are in protection. As part of the Governments efforts the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) conducted an assessment that reviewed cases between 2005 and 2009 to determine the extent of the crime and the type of people involved. They determined that socially and economically vulnerable people within the Canadian population represent the potential pool of human trafficking victims. "We were treated like dogs on a short leash… To this day I don't go out after dark because of all the threats. I have also received threats against my mother in Hungary”.
