For the past decades tourism industry has being enjoying frequent growth and fastest growing economic base industry in the world (World Tourism Organization (WTO), 2010).   Every countries in the world put priority interest in tourism development due to the economic benefit that it bring to the country. And tourism development is a complex long-term process. The tourism development process is concerned importantly in attracting the tourists to visit the country.   The development process is directly involved with destination’s planning, building, transportations, accommodation, service and facilities (Fridgen, 1990).

Malaysia, tourism is the second largest contributor to the economy next to the manufacturing sector. The remarkable success is due to the aggressive efforts in development and promotion. The Ninth Malaysia Plan (2006-2010) priority agenda is   focus in rural area tourism development. The strategies are to reduce income imbalance of the rural and urban area and also the less developed and developed areas in the country. The development of tourism in rural areas is able to provide greater opportunities for the rural folks to increase their household incomes through participating with the government’s tourism development plan (Government of Malaysia (GOM), 2011). Tourism is the main catalyst that able to create direct employment opportunities as well as to increase the economic status of the rural dwellers.   Thus, rural tourism development is a strategy that effectively able in reducing the level of poverty in less development areas of the country.  
There are varieties of programs that the government authority can strategize in its proposed program for rural tourism development. Programs that fit in line with accommodation facility that will be made available in the rural setting are the homestays.   Building or constructing hotels, motel, chalets and etc. are uneconomical for rural areas; therefore,...
