Teens, adults, elders, mentally disabled, and   so any others are homeless all over the world. There is a wide range of homeless individuals in suburban communities. There are beggers that stand on the street corner, people looking in trash cans for food to eat, and even those that sleep under a bush because they have no other shelter. Every single person has their own story to how they became homeless. Some may have been put there because they had no choice, but others choose to be homeless. For those that do not wish to be homeless, there should be a way for them to reduce or eliminate homelessness for themselves, as well as people in the community and the government to step in and help them achieve this goal.
People may agree that there are various types of people in this world, just as there are cliques in high school, there are groups of homeless people. There are those that choose to be homeless. They may do this because they feel as though the earth is their home, and should not be confined in a small sheltered atmosphere. There are runaway teens, these consist of those adolescents that do not wish to listen to their parents and want to be rebellious and not listen to people of higher authority. They also run away because of various home problems. “Homeless adolescents lacked one biological parent from their home in 81% of cases” (Bearsley-Smith). There are also families that are homeless that must deal with this hardship together. Most of these families have children under the age of six. “Homeless children…are more likely to be at least a grade level behind in math and reading…They have behavioral and emotional problems three times as often as other children, and more than half will not graduate high school” (Deam). Another group of homeless people are those that have become homeless for various reasons.
