How would you feel if someone took your ability to live? Imagine not having any say in whether or not you want to have a life. Well babies don’t have a choice in their mother’s womb. If a woman decides to abort her baby, they can’t do anything about their life being taking away from them. Their whole future is demolished!
With all that being said, I strongly disagree with abortions and could never work in a facility that preformed any kind of abortion procedures. There are two kinds of abortion in the U.S. - in-clinic and abortion pill. Abortions are very common. In fact 3 out of 10 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old.
An in-clinic abortion procedure is performed starting at 5 weeks from the first day of your last period and up until the last day of the thirteenth week. After required test are done the doctor will then inject anesthetic to numb the cervix, dilate the cervix using manual dilators, and perform the vacuum aspiration (usually lasting about a minute or two). In the recovery room you will receive pain medications and after care instructions.
The abortion pill is a little different than what I stated above. Medication abortion is offered starting at 5 weeks from the first day of your last period up until the first day of the ninth week. At the clinic you will take, by mouth, 200mg. of Mifeprex, a medication to end your pregnancy. You will also be given a second medication, misoprostal, to be used at home anytime between 8-72 hours after taking the first medication. Misoprostal will expel the pregnancy and complete the abortion process.
