Hazing is just down right wrong. I am very disgusted with the fact that this type of behavior was going and not even being monitored. The whole thing doesn’t sit right with me. The band director I’m sure was aware of these types of activates were being taken place. The death of the band member I’m sure could have been prevented. He told his fellow band members that he couldn’t breathe minutes before he collapsed and later died. Now any human being with a working mind and heart would take him to the hospital or try to get him some help but not the band members of the FAMU band, they chose to just ignore him and just go on about their business. Suspending the band from playing isn’t even justice the people that were leading these hazing tortures should be expelled.
The death of the young man that played for FAMU is very unfortunate. I feel that the blame should fall on the shoulders of the band director and the school’s authoritative team. Seeing that hazing is allowed at the school, any type of hazing should be brought before the principal or some type of authority at the school and should be monitored. The principal is at blame here as well because how can they let these horrendous actions take place? What is really sad is that this isn’t the first time some type of danger or injury has occurred from hazing at the school. Since this wasn’t the first incident there isn’t any reason for them to say that they didn’t have any knowledge of this because that would be a flat out lie. The family of the deceased has every right to sue the school. I stand behind them one hundred percent. This type of behavior should be cease at once.
