Brunei Darussalam (Jawi: نڬارا بروني دارالسلام) is a small country rich in oil and is located on the north side of the island of Borneo. Brunei is surrounded by Malaysia and Brunei is separated in two parts by the Malaysian mainland. Borneo's name is taken on the name of the country. This is because in the old days, Brunei has a strong influence and power in the island of Borneo.

Brunei's leaders are concerned that the integration with the world economy growing will affect the internal social cohesion , though Brunei has played a significant role to become chairman of the APEC forum in 2000 . These plans set for the future include upgrading the labor force , reducing unemployment, strengthening the banking and tourism sectors , and in general, the expansion of the economic base. Royal Brunei Airlines is the national airline is trying to make Brunei a hub for international travel between Europe and Australia / New Zealand. The company also has service to destinations of Asia .
The total population of Brunei is 395,027, of which 75% of the population live in urban areas (urban) and 97% of the total population living in the western part of the larger with only about 10,000 (3%) people live in the Temburong district in the eastern part . Of this number, about 46,000 people live in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan.
