In looking up a definition of globalization, it has become very clear that many individuals have attempted, with relative success and even some have claimed that it cannot be done.   Globalization is not a single idea that can be defined and comprehended within a set period of time, nor is it a process that can be defined clearly with a beginning and an end.   At best globalization can be defined as “Globalization is a process that incorporates the causes, development, and costs of international and transcultural integration of human and non-human activities.” What’s most intriguing about globalization is the simple fact of when did it come to light, the verb, "globalize" is first shown by the Merriam Webster Dictionary in 1944 and the term globalization really did not become a word till it was put in a dictionary in 1961.   The theory of globalization has been around as far back as the time of Mesopotamia, or as it is better known as the “cradle of civilization” or yet was were the beginning of written history (c. 3100 BC).   Take an approach of specifically economic globalization; the four main economic flows that characterize globalization are Goods and Services, labor and People, Capital and Technology.   Now look back at the time period in question, the Mesopotamians created an irrigation system for their crops (technology) and in doing so they would sell their crops to neighboring villages (Goods and Services, Labor and People), making money or seeds for future crops (capital).   This is all relevant in today’s society, just on a more global scale.   Globalization, cannot be defined as a single answer, globalization has been around longer than any definition can explain.   At best, economist and other related business fields can try to explain globalization, but it is a term that will always be changing and adapting to the situations, almost like it’s a living thing.   The cites used for this report are http://pdfcast.org/, http://www.ssrc.org,...
