Global Warming

Global warming is the greatest challenge facing our planet. It is more and more a subject of worries for our society. However, only a few commit to this cause to bring change. According to the Oxford Dictionary: “global warming is an increase in the average temperature worldwide believed to be caused by the greenhouse effect”. So it is, in fact, the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation. Per most scientific, Earth has warmed significantly because of the increase in greenhouse gases that trap heat on Earth.
There are many causes for this increase of temperature, but the main culprits are humans. Indeed, technologies have improved a lot these past decades with the development of means of transport and the creation of factories. Even though these discoveries have helped us a lot in our daily life, they are the main cause for climate change. Their emissions which trap the heat on Earth have helped warm the planet beyond its natural variability. So technology is the source of greenhouse gases emission. The four main contributors of the greenhouse effect are: water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone. However, technologies developed by humans are not the only cause of the rise of the temperature.
We can also blame humans for destroying our forests with impunity while they are the largest land-based mechanism for removing carbon dioxide from the air. Also, when they destroy the forest they burn it, which emit a huge amount of carbon. According to The New Mexico Solar Energy Association: “Deforestation is responsible for 25 per cent of all carbon emissions entering the atmosphere, by the burning and cutting of 34 million acres of trees each year.” So humans are responsible of this phenomenon. Our quest for perpetual development has lead to a vast problem which we are starting to suffer from. Although humans are the main...
