Fear is considered to be one of various human weaknesses that can either destroy or make a person stronger. Each person has a number of fears, with some of them we are born, for example instinct of self-preservation and some like fear of crowd, pain or height we assume via our experience in life.
By and large the state of fear causes a number of distractive effects. First of all it stifles our thinking and actions, that sometimes it’s even difficult to move and breathe. It also creates indecisiveness and a lack of self-confidence destroying our beliefs, dreams and preventing us from becoming the people we want to be. Besides, fear steals peace and contentment because dominated by negative emotions we cannot get from life everything we want and our life becomes centered on pessimism and gloom. Furthermore constant stress state may lead to weak immunity and further to number of disease. In fact, fear that we get during our life is a disease, for example such like phobias as claustrophobia, aviophobia or enochlophobia is a real problem for a person and he can’t get over it without a specialist.
We cannot avoid the fact that sometimes fear saves us from thoughtless action that can bring to harmful consequences. For example the fear of high speeds, deep water or walking alone late at night. This instinct of self-preservation is natural for human being and helps to avoid risky situation that are dangerous for life. For some people fear is a motivation to become stronger, because having get rid of minor problems like fear of dentist or spiders, a person feels like a super hero and it adds to self-appraisal.
Every person can find a suitable way of coping with fear. The first step you need to do is to understand the basis of your fears: what and why causes this negative emotion.
