Abstract

My perspective about Family influence vs. peer influence is that each one has its own effect in our society. According to Louis Hayes, “The influence of peers is thought to occur through peer modeling and peers pressure that’s just some of the thing you do just to satisfy a group of peer”. In addition when you get more peer influence than family influence they are more likely to be involve in bad situations. In fact when you are being influence you are getting knowledge and little by little it will change your social skill with others. According to Sally Burgess Brian Burgess, “when family member are left wondering where they went wrong and whether there will ever be a happy ending. It is called ‘Growing up and out”.


The relationship between Family influence and peer influence is that it influences people in the way that they are interacting with each other. There no way to prevent a child from getting peer influence.   According to Sally Burgess Brian Burgess, “you need to prepare them by telling them the kind of temptation there are likely to face in life.” Even though children have better relationship with their peer you could still preparing them by encouraging them to make good decisions in life, so you could gain their trust and respect. Mostly Peer influence harms you in society for example, smoking, drinking, drugs, fighting and revealing against society. To make peer influence harmless you just need to teach your child to say no.   The explanation of peer influence is the influence they had on their early years and the people they hang with.  A peer influence mostly happens because the lack of communication with your family and feeling left out.
