Socially this would affect the child because they would be looking after any younger siblings and doing the housework. The child wouldn’t have the chance to go out and make friends. Physically because they would be tired all the time, looking after their siblings and maybe even their parent. Intellectually because if they’re at home all the time looking after their siblings and maybe their parent and doing the house work, they are going to be tired when they go to school and they won’t be able to keep up in all of their lessons, they’d be falling asleep, not paying attention. This could affect the child’s communication skill because if the child is at home all the time looking after their siblings, worrying about their parent, they won’t have the chance to meet new people or make friends. Emotionally because they would feel lonely, unhappy; they probably maybe wouldn’t have any friends. Because of this, they could maybe develop a mental health problem too.
Drug misuse
Socially because they would be scared to leave their parent alone in case they have an overdose. They wouldn’t want to go out and socialise with other people. Physically because they would be tired all of the time as they would be looking after their parent. And any siblings that they have because the parent would be unable due to the drugs. Intellectually because if they’re at home all the time looking after their siblings and worrying about their parent all of the time, they would be tired, they wouldn’t be able to focus on their school work, they wouldn’t be paying attention and as a result they would severely fall behind. This could affect the child’s communication skill because if the child is at home all the time, inside all the time, looking after their siblings, worrying about their parent, they won’t have the chance to meet new people or make friends but, if they did they...
