F. Excretory Disorders
Definition- a hard mass formed in the kidneys, typically consisting of insoluble calcium compounds; a renal calculus.
Symptoms- pain while urinating, pain in the back or lower abdomen, nausea and vomiting
Treatments- drinking plenty of fluids, Extracorporeal lithotripsy- shock waves are applied externally break kidney stones into smaller fragments so they can be urinated out of the body, Percutaneous ultrasonic lithotripsy- tube-like instrument is passed through a small incision in the back to the kidney and the ultrasound breaks up the kidney stones.
Causes- not drinking enough water
