(Power Point – 1) As you guys probably know my sportsperson I have chosen is Wayne Rooney, the people that don’t know him, Rooney is striker who plays for Manchester united, one of the biggest football clubs in the world. Wayne Mark Rooney /ˈruːni/ (born 24 October 1985) is an English footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.

Aged nine, Rooney joined the youth team of Everton, for whom he made his professional debut in 2002 at the age of 16. He spent two seasons at the Merseyside club, before moving to Manchester United for £25.6 million in the 2004 summer transfer window. The same year, Rooney acquired the nickname "Wazza".[4] Since then, with Rooney in the team, United have won the Premier League five times, the 2007–08 UEFA Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup and two League Cups. He also holds two runner-up medals from the Champions League and has twice finished second in the Premier League. In September 2013, Rooney scored his 200th goal for United, making him the club's fourth-highest goalscorer of all time.[5]

(Power Point – 2) Rooney has many motivational strategies, for example for an intrinsic positive aspect of that could be   making the starting XI , winning the big matches, for example the Manchester derbies, F.A cup final,   Carling Cup final, champions league. So intrinsically he would like to play good in his games to support his family and earn money for is children. An intrinsic negative aspect could be negative feedback from the coach or getting dropped from the starting XI to the bench, for example Real Madrid VS Manchester United the round of 16 game in the champions league last season was a must for Rooney to start, which he was subbed on in the last 10 mins, all the fans were shocked. Extrinsic motivation aswell can have some positive and negative aspects. Good feedback from the coach, reception the player receives from the crowd, for example if a crowd is chanting...
