What do you miss most about your childhood?
What a blissful childhood I have had. I yearn to go back to the time that now seems like it never existed. The thing that I miss the most about my childhood is the ability of imagination. Life is never complicated in the eyes of a child and same was the case with me. I would be free and indulge myself in a world of my own. A place where I was a warrior with an army under my control, the next day I was a leader who had to fight mutiny. A week from then I was a rock star getting ready for a concert. Everything i could be, I imagined. It was a world pure of reality. Cartoons were the source of the stories I imagined. Pokemon cards seemed alive and plastic Beyblades seemed to be real and possessed with the spirits of the creatures.
This world was the same as described by Marilyn Monroe “Looking back, I guess I used to play-act all the time. For one thing, it meant I could live in a more interesting world than the one around me.” Sadly, childhood is that wonderful, exhilarating journey that comes to an end. Reality is mixed and the balance between imagination and reality is lost. Responsibilities conquer the once dramatic thoughts held and that is when all of childhood is lost. I miss a lot of things from my childhood, yet imagination was what set my childhood apart, the thing I cherish and remember the most.
