Ending Abortion Today
Abortion should be illegal for many reasons. In 1973 it was illegal to have an abortion in thirty states, and it was legal to have an abortion in twenty states (E Medicine Health). This all change that year in the case Roe VS Wade. In deciding Roe VS Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that the Texas statute forbidding abortion except when necessary to save the life of the mother was unconstitutional (E Medicine Health). From that point on abortion was legal in every state. Abortion is hurting people more than it is saving them. The only way that abortion should be acceptable is if the mother’s life is on the line and they can make a conscious decision that they are about to kill their own baby. When my mom was pregnant with my two identical twin sister she was getting really sick. When she went into labor the doctors told my dad that there is a good possibility that she could die and the babies could also die. They gave my mom the decision if she wanted to have an abortion or not and she said that she was not going to have an abortion even if she was going to die. After the fact she told us all that, she was happy that she did not have the abortion because if she would have had it she said she does not know how she could live with herself knowing that she killed two of her own babies.   Abortion should be illegal because it is killing innocent human beings that do not have a say what happens to them.
When a baby is in the mother’s womb it has not have the ability to protect itself and it is an innocent person. When the mother tells the doctor to go ahead with the procedure of abortion it is murder because you are killing someone that has no reason to die. A baby in a mother’s womb is an innocent person and since they cannot protect themselves someone should try to protect them.
